Highlander Mainsails

Highlander Mainsail

The Highlander mainsail is a great all-purpose winner. It is designed for peak performance on open, choppy water, and also excels in flat, inland lake sailing. It is made using Contender Sailcloth's purpose built 5.46 Fibercon Competition Ripstop sailcloth.

The class mainsail includes RBS tapered battens, large vision windows, leech tell tales, sail numbers and a tube sail bag.

Highlander Jib

The Highlander jib is built using Dimension Polyant’s purpose built 240 AP HTP sailcloth for added durability and performance. The class jib includes RBS tapered battens, vision window, leech tell tales and a tube sail bag.

The Highlander spinnaker is designed for all-around performance and excels when running. It is made using Bainbridge's AirX 600 sailcloth for unprecedented strength, performance and quality, and includes sail numbers and a sail bag.

Karl Felger

Karl Felger was raised within a community of sailors, having spent every summer on the water since he was eight years old. Summer internships at a local sail loft lead to a full time position at Quantum Toledo for two years before a ten year hiatus in the tech industry. Karl returned to sailmaking full time in the Fall of 2016 and has never looked back. Years of customer service and project manager experience, coupled with his passion for sailing and history as an accomplished helmsman, tactician and trimmer gives care the skill set needed to support customers and drive development.

Whether it be round the buoy or distance racing, Karl has extensive experience on One Design and offshore racing campaigns. On the regatta circuit you can find Karl competing in many local, regional and national events throughout the year, including inshore classes such as the Thistle, Highlander and J/70 to offshore classes such as the Melges 32, J/105 and J/111.

When asked about how he can contribute to the sailing industry, Karl says, "It's our customers' experiences that are going to help grow the sport. I want my work to reflect them and their experiences, and I want to make sure they are recognized as well."
