In 1997, when Chase Young was only 10 years old, a family friend introduced him to a new sport – sailing. The next thing Chase knew, his parents had signed him up for lessons, and the rest is history.
During high school, Chase sailed out of the United States Sailing Center. In college, he sailed for a year at the California Maritime Academy before transferring to California State University-Long Beach, where he co-founded the sailing team with his brother. During their first year of eligibility, they made it to the collegiate semifinals in Annapolis, Maryland.
When it was time to pick a career, Chase took a step back and thought about the people he knew who enjoyed their jobs the most. “The answer was always sailing,” he said. He joined Quantum Sails in July 2015. “I was presented with an opportunity to work with the SoCal team and could not wait to jump in and work with some of the best people I know.”
As part of the Quantum team, Chase is surrounded by experienced people who continue to teach him and challenge him as a sailor, a professional, and as a person. As the SoCal loft service manager, his goal is to provide the type of service he would like to receive. “When working with me, customers can expect excellent customer service,” said Chase. “I have a desire to help them in any way possible in a timely manner.”
An experienced sailor, Chase has raced Farr 40, ID48, Naples Sabot, CFJ, 420, J/22, J/120, Soling, Catalina 37, and Etchells.
