Born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Charlie Saville learned to sail on the Tred Avon River in Maryland. His childhood revolved around the water, including junior sailing on the eastern shores of Maryland and racing Etchells in San Diego. After college, Charlie set out on a 10-year off-shore sailing career, covering more than 125,000 nautical miles and visiting 40 countries during 11 ocean crossings.

A third-generation sailmaker and professional sailing instructor with more than 6,000 hours of instruction, he co-founded Warrior Yachting in Annapolis, Maryland in 2000. Providing yacht and sail maintenance, consultations, and instruction, he had one mission – to help people achieve their yachting goals. In 2009, he brought that mission to Quantum Atlantic when he was contracted to manage the Annapolis service department.

In 2015, after six years of working with Quantum Sails, Charlie officially joined the team as the National Service Director. “My philosophy as a small business owner translated well to my role at Quantum,” he said. “We will not accept anything less than total perfection for ourselves as service providers, and certainly not for our customers. We stand behind our work, and if for any reason a customer is not satisfied, we’ll make it right, right away.”

Martin Kullman grew up on the water in St. Petersburg, Florida, so it’s no surprise that he started sailing when he was only five years old. He continued sailing throughout his youth and at Old Dominion College, where he was a three time All-American and won the national championship.

After graduating from college, Martin joined the work force, but in 2011 his passion became his career when decided to pursue sailing fulltime. He had such a positive experience with Quantum Sails that he joined the team in 2012. “My favorite thing about being part of Quantum is the great group of people who have the same goals and aspirations,” he said.

With an extensive list of sailing experience including TP 52, MC 38, Carkee 40, Farr 40, Farr 30, Melges 32, Melges 24, Melges 20, J/70, J/111, J/88, J/22, J/105, and VX One he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Quantum. As the National Sales Director, he strives to provide a courteous and fun experience for all of his customers, and Quantum provides the perfect place for him to do just that.
