Melges 32 Spinnakers

Melges 32 A2.5 AP Runner Asymmetrical

The A2.5 was developed and tested by our on-the-water team and has proven to be very fast. A max sized runner that’s very forgiving, the trimmer and helmsperson can easily keep the boat and sail in control while working together. The A2.5 has an open leech, raised clew, and less positive on the luff so it works well in bow-up modes. It also keeps the boat from binding up when sailing in high modes to protect a lane or keep the boat on a steady plane. The recommend AP class runner, it sails best in 8-19 knots. Includes grand prix spinnaker duffle, take down patch, class royalty, ISAF measurement sticker.

Melges 32 A2.5+ Asymmetrical

A bow-up reacher, the A2.5+ is max sized and powerful enough to get the boat up and over tight packs of boats. Suited for bow-up sailing in light winds (less than 7 knots), it also comes to life in 19+ knots, when boat control and steering become difficult with the max sized A2.5. The flatter head, higher clew, and straighter luff enable the helmsman to put the bow where he needs to in very light or windy conditions without the helm overloading and stalling. A larger head and leech compared to the A1.75 class reacher, it pairs well with the A2.5 AP Runner to meet the class’s two-spinnaker limit. Includes grand prix spinnaker duffle, take down patch, class royalty, ISAF measurement sticker.

Martin Kullman grew up on the water in St. Petersburg, Florida, so it’s no surprise that he started sailing when he was only five years old. He continued sailing throughout his youth and at Old Dominion College, where he was a three time All-American and won the national championship.

After graduating from college, Martin joined the work force, but in 2011 his passion became his career when decided to pursue sailing fulltime. He had such a positive experience with Quantum Sails that he joined the team in 2012. “My favorite thing about being part of Quantum is the great group of people who have the same goals and aspirations,” he said.

With an extensive list of sailing experience including TP 52, MC 38, Carkee 40, Farr 40, Farr 30, Melges 32, Melges 24, Melges 20, J/70, J/111, J/88, J/22, J/105, and VX One he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Quantum.
