February 1, 2016 “I have a brand new Airx™ 650 spinnaker for my J/22 that got a six inch-tear because of poor handling by an inexperienced crew member. Can it be fixed? I'm a little devastated in that it has only been out twice.”

This is more common than you can imagine. Don't fret! It can be fixed and have no lasting impact on the sail's life or performance. A simple "strip patch" can be applied over the tear and the torn cloth cut away from behind. Cosmetically you will see a patch but it will have no effect on the sail. If it is mid-panel away from a horizontal seam, there is a good chance it does not even need to be sewn. You may be able to do this yourself; we can provide you with the cloth and adhesive tape. Of course sending the sail to your local Quantum sail loft will assure you of a proper fix.
