Flying Scot

Een van de meest succesvolle eenheidsklassen in Noord-Amerika. Deze gezinsvriendelijke klasse staat bekend om het plezier dat men zowel op als naast het water beleeft. Ons Quantum-team heeft meerdere Noord-Amerikaanse en Midwinter-kampioenschappen gewonnen en we willen ervoor zorgen dat jij het maximale uit jouw zeilervaring haalt.

Grootzeilen

Flying Scot All Purpose Mainsail

Dit grootzeil is ontworpen door gouden medaillewinnaar Mark Reynolds. Het doel van dit ontwerp was om een snelle lichte/gemiddelde vorm te behouden, maar door de keuze van het doek en de indeling van de panelen ook geschikt te maken voor meer wind. Het grootzeil is gemaakt van stevig en duurzaam 4 oz. doek. Het venster, de oprolzak, de nummers, het achterlijk van de fok, het kijkvenster en de race-latten zijn standaard.

Voorzeilen

Flying Scot All Purpose Jib

De fok is ontworpen door gouden medaillewinnaar Mark Reynolds en is gemaakt van een combinatie van 165 en 253 square weave doek. De voet van het zeil is voorzien van een twist shelf om een mooie vorm tot aan de onderkant te behouden. Dit is een multifunctionele fok met één kijkvenster voor het beste zicht. De fok wordt geleverd met een roltas.

Flying Scot Crosscut Spinnaker

Dit is zonder twijfel het snelste zeil in zijn klasse! Onze zeilen zijn in de loop der jaren verfijnd en staan bekend als gemakkelijk te trimmen. De crosscut-constructie is gemaakt van 3/4 oz. nylon.

Chris Schramel

Chris Schramel

Chris Schramel didn’t start sailing until he was 18 years old, but it looked like fun, so he gave it a try. He sailed throughout college, and the excitement of the competition, the girls, and the adventure of it all got in his blood. In 1975, his passion became his career when he ran a small loft in Martha’s Vineyard.

Chris spent several years with Sobstad before joining the Quantum team as an affiliate loft. With all of Quantum’s resources and experts available to him, Chris not only provides the best service and products available, he also treats his customers as friends, investing his time and talents to help them get the most out of their sailing experiences.

A Flying Scot expert, Chris is also experienced in 5.5 Meter, Laser, 470, Snipe, V-15, Rhodes 19, and Tornado classes, as well as most of the popular offshore One Design and handicap boats.

George Szabo

George Szabo

George grew up in San Diego racing Stars, Lasers and Snipes. As a kid, he made sails for his model boats before eventually taking a part-time job with Quantum during high school and college. He came on full-time in 1993 as a sailmaker and designer.

Using the latest computer design programs, George is able to create the fastest, most efficient sails for smaller One Design boats. This technology, combined with his intimate understanding of One Design sailing, allows him to create the most versatile sails available. The San Diego loft designs a variety of One Design sails, including Thistle and Lido 14, but their specialties are Olympic Class Star and Snipe boats.

George is the 2009 Star World Champion, as well as an 21-time National/North American Champion. In addition to his sail-making abilities and wins, he is also an accomplished keelboat tactician and trimmer.
