Melges 32 A1.5 AP Reacher Asymmetrical

El A1.5, un reacher con proa elevada, tiene el tamaño máximo y la potencia suficiente para que el barco se eleve y supere grupos densos de embarcaciones. Tiene potencia suficiente para navegar con la proa elevada con vientos ligeros (menos de 7 nudos), al tiempo que proporciona al barco el control suficiente con vientos de más de 19 nudos para mantenerlo rápido y fácil de manejar. La cabeza más plana, la escota más alta y el grátil más recto permiten al timonel colocar la proa donde necesita en condiciones de viento muy flojo o fuerte.

Melges 32 A2.5 AP Runner Asymmetrical

El A2.5 ha sido desarrollado y probado por nuestro equipo en el agua y ha demostrado ser muy rápido. Es un spinnaker de tamaño máximo muy tolerante, fácil de manejar y sencillo de trimar, y es el spinnaker más rápido de la flota. El A2.5 tiene una baluma abierta, un puño de escota elevado y menos positividad en el grátil para ofrecer una velocidad superior en la navegación y la capacidad de proteger los carriles. Aumentando la adaptabilidad del barco, el A2.5 tiene suficiente control para defenderse de un barco que ataca, manteniendo al mismo tiempo un modo bien equilibrado hasta la marca. El A2.5 navega mejor con vientos de 8 a 19 nudos, donde la prioridad es navegar bajo.

Scott Nixon

Scott Nixon has been involved with racing his whole life. Scott grew up sailing on the Southern Chesapeake Bay in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia.

An All-American sailor at St. Mary's College of Maryland, Scott later coached many students to the All-American ranks at the College of Charleston in South Carolina. With decades of competitive racing, he has a wide range of racing experiences, including dinghies, one-design keelboats, inshore big boats, and offshore distance racing.

Scott joined Quantum Sails in 2000, and his experiences bring a unique skill set to Quantum's programs. Focusing primarily on one design classes, he is directly involved in testing, design, and development of Quantum’s One Design sail programs. He working directly with the design team and worldwide sales team to make sure Quantum sails are at the front of the fleet.

Scott has sailed with Quantum customers to win championships at the World, Gold Cup, European, North American, and National levels.

His hands-on approach includes active campaigns and racing in the following classes for Quantum: J/22, J/24, J/70, J/80, J/88, J/109, J/111, C&C 30, Farr 30, Farr 40, Swan 42, Swan 45, Melges 20, Melges 24, Melges 32, Melges 40, TP52, ORC, and GL52 classes. He is a three-time World Champion in the J/111, Melges 32, and ORC 52 classes.

Jason Currie

A New Zealand native and sailmaker by trade, Jason completed his 4-year apprenticeship in 1996. After working in Auckland for Boyd & McMaster sails, he moved to Annapolis Maryland in 1997 to start with the brand new Quantum Sail Design Group, and has been with the company ever since.

During his time with Quantum, Jason ran the service department before moving into sales in 2008. His leadership and expertise earned him a promotion to Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager in 2022, and today he leads Quantum’s U.S. sales team, overseeing strategic growth initiatives and client relationships nationwide.

Jason brings with him to Quantum a wealth of experience in both racing and cruising applications having been involved in the technical and hands on side of sailmaking for over 30 years.

Over the years he has competed successfully on all levels of Grand Prix, One Design
And ORC racing circuits ranging from J/70, Farr 30, Farr 40, C&C30, J/111, IC37, Melges 32, Cape
31, and TP52. In 2009, Jason was tasked with managing the sail development and design program for the Farr 40 class that has led to multiple national and world championship wins for Quantum clients.

Having grown up sailing and spending most of his life in the sailmaking industry, Jason holds a diverse range of experience that he happily passes on to his racing and cruising clients.

Maxim Logutenko

Maxim started working in the Quantum Russia office in 2010 after a lifetime of sailing experiences. He started sailing on Optimist boats when he was six years old and became a champion sailor. He is a two-time All-Japan Mini Hopper and Sea Hopper Junior Champion, two-time Quarter Ton class All-Russia Champion, and the 2008 Dragon European Champion. Maxim is also experienced on Cadet, 470, 49er and RC44 boats. When he's not sailing, Maxim also coaches, including the Russian Yngling class for the 2008 Olympics.

When Maxim decided to transition into selling sails, he chose Quantum because of its state-of-the-art design and development, as well as Quantum's reputation for quality. He is excited to work with new and repeat clients to help everyone find the fastest, most competitive sails.

Carlo Fracassoli

Born and raised on Garda Lake, sailing has been Carlo Fracassoli’s favorite sport since childhood. It’s no surprise that he become a professional sailor in 2001. In 2003, he began collaborating in the development of racing and cruising sails for some of the industry’s best known sails brands. He designed sails for monotypes and had great results on the water.

In 2012, Carlo and Manlio Pozzoli opened their own sailmaking loft and affiliated with Quantum Sails as the Quantum Pro-Laghi S.N.C. loft. Since then, he has designed most of the sails sold by the Italian sales team. A One-Design specialist, Carlo designs many sails for Melges 20, 24, and 32 classes, Garda and European lakes monotypes, and ORC and IRC offshore boats.

An accomplished sailor, he won the Melges 24 World Championship in 2012, 2017 and 2019 and the European Championship in 2011 and 2018.
