Quantum Sails Powers Top Results at the 2026 U.S. Snipe National Championship

The Snipe class continues to prove why it remains one of the most competitive and respected one-design fleets in sailing. With more than 30,000 boats built worldwide and a rich history of championship racing, the class rewards precision, consistency, and attention to detail. At the 2026 U.S. Snipe National Championship in Annapolis, Maryland, Quantum Sails was proud to support the event and the sailors competing at the highest level of the class.

The regatta featured a talented 52-boat fleet and delivered close racing throughout the championship. When the final scores were tallied, Quantum-powered teams occupied six of the top ten positions, including an impressive overall victory by Justin Callahan and Trevor Davis. The young team sailed to the national title using a full inventory of Quantum sails.

Quantum sailors finished first, third, fourth, sixth, eighth, and ninth overall, with partial Quantum inventories contributing to additional podium-level performances. More than half of the fleet relied on Quantum products, with 29 boats sailing under Quantum mainsails and 26 boats racing with Quantum jibs.

"The Snipe class is one of the best testing grounds for sail design because the racing is so close," said Carter Cameron, One Design Specialist at our San Diego Loft. "We're proud not only of the results our clients achieved, but also of the support we were able to provide throughout the event. The daily fleet debriefs were extremely well attended and reinforced our commitment to helping sailors improve both on and off the racecourse."

The championship-winning sail combination was Quantum's XFB mainsail paired with the RSJ-14 jib. This combination finished 1st, 6th, 8th, and 9th, with the XFB main finishing 3rd and 4th. Designed as all-purpose racing sails, the XFB is a full-radial mainsail while the RSJ-14 features a bi-radial design. Together, they have proven fast and versatile across a wide range of conditions, from light-air races to heavy-air championship regattas. The designs reflect years of development, testing, and refinement with top sailors across the Snipe fleet.

Beyond sail design, Quantum remains committed to supporting Snipe sailors through coaching, tuning guidance, event sponsorship, and fleet development. During the U.S. Nationals, Quantum hosted post-racing debrief sessions each day, creating opportunities for competitors to review conditions, discuss techniques, and continue learning throughout the regatta.

Whether you're campaigning for a national championship, building a local fleet, or looking to improve your results at the club level, Quantum's Snipe experts are ready to help.
