Welcome Richard Franks as Vice President, Europe
We’re thrilled to welcome Richard Franks to the Quantum Sails team as our new Vice President of Europe. Over more than a decade working closely with our group, Richard has played a pivotal role in driving growth across Europe—especially in B2B and white-label markets. He brings deep technical knowledge, a strong reputation in the sailmaking world, and a true passion for sailing.
Richard began sailing at age eight in the UK, starting in a Mirror Dinghy and later racing Lasers and crewing yachts from 25–70 feet. Today, he competes in both Daring Classic keelboats (in Cowes) and a 2000 OD dinghy with his son in club and national events. His sailing adventures have taken him across the UK’s coasts, the French and Spanish Mediterranean, the U.S., Australia, and more. Richard has lived in Spain and Australia before returning to the UK, where he now resides in Landford, New Forest.
His sailmaking journey started with roles in sailing schools and evolved in 1989 into production and R&D. In 1996, he moved into sales, where he has built a distinguished career ever since. In his new role as Vice President of Europe, Richard will continue working with sailmaking clients across Europe and spearheading the growth of the Quantum network.
