Quantum Sails Announces New Leadership Structure to Strengthen Global Sales Team

Quantum Sails is proud to announce a new leadership structure aimed at fostering growth, enhancing internal collaboration, and delivering even greater support to our customers and sales team.

Quantum's new Director of Western US Sales, Jeff Thorpe, provides coaching for J/105 sailors at a recent North American Championship

With a renewed commitment to developing talent from within, this update reflects our drive to evolve with the sport and the sailing community. "We're empowering our team to learn from some of our most experienced sales professionals and are committed to giving these individuals the tools and support they need to succeed," said Andrew Scott, Quantum Sails COO. "Most importantly, these new roles give everyone greater access to one another — sharing knowledge, resources, and support across the entire Quantum network."

This new structure simplifies regional oversight and expands resources across Quantum's US and global network, giving team members more opportunities to collaborate and excel.

Meet the New Leadership Team

Jason Currie – US Sales Manager

A Quantum team member since 1997, Jason brings a deep knowledge of our products and customers to his new role as US Sales Manager. With a long history of competitive success and a proven track record in sales, Jason is well-positioned to lead our US sales operations.

"It's exciting," Currie shared. "We all bring decades of experience to the table. We're still selling sails, not just managing. We're working together to help our team grow and succeed."

In this role, Jason will lead the US sales team with direct support from two new regional directors, focusing on growing resources and simplifying structure by dividing oversight into East and West regions.

Jeff Thorpe – Director of Western US Sales

A top-performing Quantum salesperson for much of the past decade, Jeff Thorpe will now lead our efforts west of the Mississippi. Based in San Francisco, Jeff is a veteran of offshore racing, with multiple Transpac and Pacific Cup races under his belt. He has been a leader at Quantum since 1997 and is known for his dedication to his clients and his team.

Kris Werner – Director of Eastern US Sales

Joining Quantum with his Rochester, NY Loft, Kris has been instrumental in the growth of our Great Lakes region. Appointed Great Lakes Regional Manager in 2022, Kris now steps into the role of Director of Eastern US Sales. With numerous national and North American titles to his name, Kris brings a strong foundation in one-design racing and regional development.

Scott Nixon – One Design Director

Scott Nixon, out of our Annapolis Loft, now takes on an expanded role overseeing all One Design classes supported by Quantum globally. As the former Offshore One Design Director, Scott has guided countless Quantum teams to championships and brings decades of coaching and racing expertise to this role.

Carles Rodriguez – Spain Regional Manager

Carles brings his deep loft and on-water experience to the role of Regional Manager for Spain. A key figure at our Barcelona loft, Carles has worked across sailmaking, design, and customer service, with top-tier racing achievements including wins at the Copa del Rey, Maxi Yacht Cup, and Swan Cup. His leadership will be instrumental in Quantum's continued growth in the Spanish market.

These leadership appointments represent Quantum's long-term commitment to excellence — in our products, people, and customers' success.

"For our sales team, it's much more than processing orders and delivering a product — it's about building the kind of relationship that ensures the customer gets not just the right product, but the support they need to have the experience they're looking for," said Currie. "That takes time and patience. We have the right people in place, and we're always evolving to give our team the support they need to show up for our customers in meaningful ways. This is about internal growth first, then overall growth — laying a strong foundation to keep moving forward, together."
