Quantum Sails Annapolis is pleased to announce the addition of Alan Campbell as a Sail and Design Consultant. Alan brings deep roots in the Chesapeake Bay sailing community, a broad competitive racing background, and more than a decade of professional sailmaking experience.
Alan grew up racing out of the Tred Avon Yacht Club and has competed across an impressive range of boats and classes over the years, from Optis and 420s to Stars, Shields, PHRF programs, and the iconic Chesapeake log canoes. His offshore resume includes six Newport-to-Bermuda Races and two Annapolis-to-Newport Races, with multiple podium finishes across both. Notable results include a first overall and first in class in the 2019 Annapolis-to-Newport Race, a third overall and second in class in the St. David’s division at the 2024 Newport Bermuda Race, and first overall and first in class in the same division in the 2026 Newport Bermuda Race.
Alan grew up working in his family's full-service boatyard before advancing through roles in service and management and transitioning into sailmaking. His career spans time at Evolution Sails and more than a decade at Jenkins Sails, across programs ranging from Star boats to large offshore yachts. Following Quantum's acquisition of Jenkins Sails in 2026, Alan joined the Annapolis loft as a Sail and Design Consultant.

Working closely with sailors throughout the Chesapeake and beyond, Alan draws on his racing background, marine industry experience, and technical sailmaking knowledge to support sail selection, design consultation, and ongoing program development.
