Jason Currie Promoted to Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager

We’re excited to announce the promotion of Jason Currie to Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager. Please read on for more information regarding Jason’s new role within our ever-expanding and diversifying team and how he plans to support our customers in the region.

Jason Currie, of Quantum Sails Annapolis, has stepped up into the role of Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager. Jason has been with Quantum for 25 years and during his time with the company has also worked in service and sales. "Jason's breadth of knowledge is an asset for the entire Mid-Atlantic Region,” said Director of Internal Development, Charlie Saville. “He has an extensive background in 'hands on' sailmaking which helped launch his success as a Sail Consultant. During his 25 years with Quantum, Jason's attention to detail and commitment to client care has served his clients well. I'm excited for him to oversee this care for all of our clients, and team members, in this region.”

“The prospect of overseeing the Mid-Atlantic region is an exciting challenge,” said Jason Currie. “I'm looking forward to sharing my knowledge of Quantum technologies and product lines not just here in Annapolis, but also with our affiliated lofts and their valued clients. In addition to this, I am eager to work toward amplifying a culture of growth and commitment to establishing lasting relationships with our clients.”

Mid-Atlantic Regional Manager

A New Zealand native and sailmaker by trade, Jason completed his 4-year apprenticeship in 1996. After working in Auckland for Boyd & McMaster sails, he moved to Annapolis Maryland in 1997 to start with the brand new Quantum Sail Design Group, and has been with the company ever since.

During his time with Quantum, Jason ran the service department before moving into sales in 2008. Jason brings with him to Quantum a wealth of experience in both racing and cruising applications having been involved in the technical and hands on side of sail making for almost 30 years.

Over the years he has competed successfully on all levels of Grand Prix, One Design & IRC racing circuits ranging from J/22, J/70, Farr 30, Farr 40, C&C30, J/111, IC37, and the IRC52. In 2009 Jason was tasked with managing the sail development and design program for the Farr 40 class that has led to multiple national and world championship wins for Quantum clients. Having grown up sailing and spending most of his life in the sailmaking industry, Jason holds a diverse range of experience that he happily passes on to his racing and cruising clients.
