Quantum Sails Partners with SV Delos on Their Next Great Adventure

Quantum Sails is proud to announce a new partnership with Brian and Karin Trautman of SV Delos, one of the most influential and inspiring sailing channels in the world. This collaboration highlights Quantum's distinct advantages: expert design, innovative technology, and unwavering commitment to helping sailors achieve their aspirations.

With nearly one million YouTube subscribers and a strong following across social media, Delos has built a community that stretches across generations and continents. Their videos combine beautiful aesthetics and compelling storytelling with technical insight, sparking curiosity and passion for sailing for all interests and skill levels. As one of the largest sailing platforms in existence, Delos's reach surpasses even major sailing events, making them an ideal partner for Quantum as we continue to grow our presence in both racing and cruising.

For Brian and Karin, sailing isn't just a pastime; it's been a way of life for more than 15 years. What began as Brian's 18-month sabbatical from a software engineering career turned into a circumnavigation spanning 85,000 miles, five continents, and 39 countries. Along the way, Karin joined the adventure, learning to sail from scratch and ultimately becoming an accomplished voyager herself. Together, they've transformed their journey into one of the most-watched sailing stories of all time.

Now, the Delos crew embarks on their most ambitious project yet: a custom-built 53-foot aluminum expeditionary catamaran under construction in Australia. Quantum will power their next chapter with a full set of sails designed for performance and durability. This new boat will carry them to ambitious destinations, from the South Pacific to the icy waters of Alaska and potentially even through the Northwest Passage. There's even talk of Brian, Karin, and the boat attending the 2026 Annapolis Sailboat Show, with Quantum alongside through the entire journey.

"We're incredibly excited to have a partner that engages with us on a deep technical level," said Brian. "This new catamaran is designed to be fast, capable, and sustainable—and having Quantum alongside us means we'll have sails that match the ambition of the boat."

But the partnership is about more than sails. "Brian and Karin embody the kind of values and sailing ambition that we want our brand to be aligned with," said Dave Gendell, CCO of Quantum Sails. "They're thoughtful sailors with a proven track record, and their ability to share the technical side of sailing with such a wide audience is exactly what makes this partnership so powerful."

For the Delos team, the collaboration is a natural fit. "We've always learned from the people we've met along the way," says Karin. "Working with Quantum gives us a chance to keep learning, this time from some of the best sailmakers in the world, and to share that knowledge with our community."

To Quantum, this is more than just a logo on a sail. "Our goal is to genuinely give Brian and Karin a better sailing experience, and through that, connect and inspire sailors everywhere," said Julie Massaroni, Quantum's Director of Marketing. "It's about showing what makes Quantum different, not just telling people."

As always, Delos' loyal audience will be along for the ride. "Our followers range from first-time dreamers to CEOs with their own racing programs," Brian said. "They're passionate people who love sailing as much as we do, and we can't wait to share this next chapter with them, and with Quantum."

Together, Quantum and Delos are charting an exciting course, uniting craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology with storytelling that continues to capture imaginations around the world.
