Greg Griffin is based in Jacksonville, FL where he is a sail consultant for Quantum Sails. Greg is also available by appointment for individual consultations and other services in the Southeast Region including:

  • New sails
  • On-board sail evaluations & consultations
  • One Design Regatta support including coaching and sail inspections/evaluations
  • Sail service arrangements

Greg was introduced to sailing at an early age by his father. He soon discovered a lifelong passion that he has pursued for nearly four decades. Along the way, and with family and friends, Greg has collected well over 85 regional and higher-level regatta wins in the competitive Thistle, Lightning, JY15, Tartan Ten, and J24 classes.

More importantly, Greg has discovered a passion for leadership, coaching and involving others as volunteers and competitors in the sport he loves. He has coached and led clinics for the TCA (Thistle Class) for several decades and held many of the class leadership positions along the way, including class president. He continues to share his deep knowledge of tuning, tactics, strategy, rules, and regatta organization whenever asked. Greg has also been active at the grassroots level, serving on various committees, the board of governors, and as fleet captain at his local club.

As a sail consultant and class expert, Greg extends the reach and expertise of the Seabrook, Texas, loft, providing support to not only one-design classes like the Thistle, Lightning, and J24, but also the many cruising customers in the Southeast.
