Geoffrey Pierini grew up in New Jersey and learned to sail at the Raritan Yacht Club in Perth Amboy, starting in tech dinghies before crewing on keelboats like J/24s and eventually moving into bowman roles on larger IOR boats. His professional path in the maritime industry began at just 15, when he spent summers living aboard a 1946 Crocker Catch and earning money cleaning boat bottoms, climbing masts, painting and buffing hulls, and making general sailboat repairs—experience that led him to start his own rigging company at 17.

Over the years, his sailing background expanded through extensive time as an amateur owner-driver, skippering across numerous one-design classes, which he considers formative to his development as a sailor. After acquiring Antigua Rigging, Geoffrey reconnected with longtime racing peer Scott Nixon to explore a partnership with Quantum Sails, allowing him to offer a broader range of products and services while working with the Quantum team to bring grand prix one-design events to Antigua.

These days, Geoffrey enjoys cruising around the Caribbean with friends and family. He sails an RS Elite and 72' Tripp Marten in Antigua and a J/70 that is kept in Italy. He is currently working to revive the RS Elite One Design Fleet in Antigua.
