Flying Scot All Purpose Mainsail

Entworfen vom Goldmedaillengewinner Mark Reynolds, war das Ziel dieses Hauptdesigns, eine schnelle leichte/mittlere Form beizubehalten, aber durch die Auswahl des Stoffes und die Anordnung der Segelbahnen auch den Einsatzbereich auf stärkere Winde auszuweiten. Das Hauptsegel besteht aus festem und strapazierfähigem 4-Unzen-Stoff. Das Fenster, die Rolltasche, die Nummern, das Fock-Achterliek, das Sichtfenster und die Rennlatten sind Standard.

Vorsegel

Flying Scot All Purpose Jib

Der von Goldmedaillengewinner Mark Reynolds entworfene Klüver besteht aus einer Kombination aus 165er- und 253er-Quadratgewebe. Der Fuß des Segels verfügt über eine Twist-Ablage, um eine gleichmäßige Form bis zum unteren Ende zu gewährleisten. Es handelt sich um einen Allzweck-Klüver mit einem Sichtfenster, das optimale Sichtverhältnisse bietet. Der Klüver wird mit einer Rolltasche geliefert.

Chris Schramel

Chris Schramel

Chris Schramel didn’t start sailing until he was 18 years old, but it looked like fun, so he gave it a try. He sailed throughout college, and the excitement of the competition, the girls, and the adventure of it all got in his blood. In 1975, his passion became his career when he ran a small loft in Martha’s Vineyard.

Chris spent several years with Sobstad before joining the Quantum team as an affiliate loft. With all of Quantum’s resources and experts available to him, Chris not only provides the best service and products available, he also treats his customers as friends, investing his time and talents to help them get the most out of their sailing experiences.

A Flying Scot expert, Chris is also experienced in 5.5 Meter, Laser, 470, Snipe, V-15, Rhodes 19, and Tornado classes, as well as most of the popular offshore One Design and handicap boats.

George Szabo

George Szabo

George grew up in San Diego racing Stars, Lasers and Snipes. As a kid, he made sails for his model boats before eventually taking a part-time job with Quantum during high school and college. He came on full-time in 1993 as a sailmaker and designer.

Using the latest computer design programs, George is able to create the fastest, most efficient sails for smaller One Design boats. This technology, combined with his intimate understanding of One Design sailing, allows him to create the most versatile sails available. The San Diego loft designs a variety of One Design sails, including Thistle and Lido 14, but their specialties are Olympic Class Star and Snipe boats.

George is the 2009 Star World Champion, as well as an 21-time National/North American Champion. In addition to his sail-making abilities and wins, he is also an accomplished keelboat tactician and trimmer.
