Ivan Shestopalov wins Opti Class at 2013 Junior Olympic Festival

Congratulations to Ivan Shestopalov, winner of the 2013 Junior Olympic Festival with Quantum’s fastest Opti sail, the XR-1 Black. Thomas Rice finished fifth overall, also using an XR-1. The regatta, with over 130 Optimist sailors, was held at US Sailing Center Martin County in Jensen Beach, FL.

US Sailing's Junior Olympic Program is a nationwide series of regattas for youth ages 8 to 21. Each event is hosted by a different club or organization, but all events share a common goal: to promote the enjoyment of sailing and development of skills to young sailors as well as provide an Olympic pathway for talented junior sailors.

Quantum is a proud sponsor of the next event, the Orange Bowl International Youth Regatta in late December, hosted by Coral Reef Yacht Club in Miami, FL. Quantum has provided an XR-1 sail to be awarded during the Opti Raffle Drawing. Good luck to all the sailors!
